Rangers finished fifth last season
Rangers International FC of Enugu have lined up friendly matches with Abia Warriors, Abia Comets of Umuahia, and Akwa United of Uyo in preparation for the 2013/2014 Glo Premier League.
Rangers’ Technical Adviser, John Obuh, said on Friday in Enugu that the club was determined to win laurels in the season.
The Flying Antelopes finished the last season in the 5th position with 58 points. They were five points behind eventual winners, Kano Pillars, who garnered 63 points.
“These are the clubs I know for now. We may engage other clubs in friendly games before the season gets underway on February 21. As for the players, they are ready to give their all knowing they are going to represent one of the oldest clubs in the country,” Obuh said.
He also said that the players were responding to instructions.
The technical adviser said the coaches were conscious of the fact that some of the players lacked the experience to play at the elite division because they were recruited from lower leagues.
Obuh added that the technical crew was therefore determined to ensure that such players jelled with their more experienced team mates before the competition.
