Usman died on Friday
The Club Owners Association of Nigeria, on Friday, expressed shock over the death of Sani Usman, a former Kano Pillars FC Chairman.
The association expressed the shock in a statement issued in Ilorin by its Acting Secretary, Alloy Chukwuemeka.
The statement quoted Mr. Chukwuemeka as describing the death, which happened in Kano on Friday, as a shock to club owners. The deceased was an active member of the association. He condoled with the immediate family, the management of Kano Pillars, the government and people of Kano State, as well as friends of the deceased. He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for Almighty Allah to grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, the club owners have sent a three-man delegation to Kano to condole with the family and attend the burial rites.
The delegation, according to the statement, would be led by Sabo Babayaro of Kaduna Utd, Abba Yola of Kano Pillars and Zanna Mala of Elkanemi Warriors.
The late Mr. Usman is survived by two wives and seven children.
