Coach says pitch may affect training for Super Four
The Coach of Bayelsa United Football Club, Ladan Bosso, on Friday appealed to the state government to rehabilitate the pitch of the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.
Bosso said in Yenagoa that the poor condition of the stadium pitch was affecting the training programmes of the club. He said that the rebuilding of the pitch would help the club to prepare effectively for upcoming championships.
“We are warming up for two tournaments which include the Super Four football tournament scheduled for January 24, in Abuja and the continental Football Championship. Our pitch for training is worrisome; we want the state government to put the stadium in a good shape. I’m afraid because the pitch may not receive the approval of the Nigeria Football Association and Confederation of African Football.”
The coach said the club was hopeful of excellent performance in the super four.
The four teams participating in the Super Four are Kano Pillars, Enyimba, Bayelsa United and Warri Wolves.
