Shola Ameobi and his Newcastle United teammates on Saturday afternoon inflicted the second successive home defeat on Manchester United as they battled to a lone goal victory over the reigning league champions.
The victory for Newcastle was the first since 41 years ago when they last achieved the same feat.
Yohan Cabaye was the hero of the day as his lone strike in the 61st minute added more mystery to the woes of the Red Devils who have now been made to look so ordinary under new manager David Moyes.
Ameobi was to replace Cabaye moments later as he helped his side keep the lead and coast to another memorable win in what has been a fantastic so far for Coach Alan Pardew and his team.
The three points secured at Old Trafford has given Newcastle some push on the log as they have jumped to sixth spot with 26 points from 15 games and are looking good to achieve their season target of getting one of the slots to play in Europe.
For Manager Moyes, it is not clear what the future holds as fans of United deserted the stadium minutes before the final whistle as they have been forced to take the bitter pill of defeat once more.
