Details of the transfer, confirmed Sunday, have not been disclosed.
Gareth Bale has finally been confirmed as a Real Madrid player, signing with the club on a six-year deal.
The Tottenham winger has been constantly linked with a move to Los Blancos this summer, but only on Sunday evening – with one day of the transfer window to go – has the deal been sealed.
A statement on the cub’s official website read: “ Gareth Bale is a new player of Real Madrid. Los Blancos have signed one of the best in the world.”
The 24-year-old’s transfer is for an undisclosed fee, but believed to be between €91-101 million.
Although Carlo Ancelotti’s men are yet to reveal the forward’s contract, reports in the Spanish Press claim that he has signed on a six-year deal worth €7m per season.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has already admitted that Bale has left the club ‘with great memories’.
