The player signed a five-year deal.
Chelsea has confirmed the signing of Brazilian playmaker, Willian.
The 25-year-old was granted a work permit Wednesday and has now been unveiled by the West London club.
Spurs thought they had tied up the £30million transfer of the 25-year-old only for a last-minute offer of £32million from Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to scupper their efforts.
A Statement on the club’s official website read: “Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Willian.
“The 25-year-old Brazilian was today (Wednesday) granted a work permit and has signed a five-year contract, having moved to England from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala. He will wear the number 22 shirt.”
“I’m very happy to be here, it’s been a dream of mine to come and play here,” said Willian.
“Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world, and now I’m going to play for one of the best managers in the world, so I’m very happy and looking forward to it.”
Willian’s signing means the chances of Nigerian winger, Victor Moses, leaving Chelsea this season (whether on loan or on a permanent basis) has increased.
Moses has reportedly interested Liverpool and Everton, two other Premier League clubs.
