Tosin Oke pulled out of the triple jump event.
Team Nigeria’s quest for more medals at the ongoing IAAF World Athletics Championships in Moscow, Russia, got a boost and was also dealt a blow during Friday’s morning session.
The good news for Nigeria was the qualification of the country’s 4x400m women’s team for Saturday’s final; while sadly the country’s medal hopeful in the men’s Triple Jump event, Tosin Oke, pulled out owing to an injury.

For the 4x400m women quartet anchored by U.S. based Regina George, the task of getting at least a medal after recording a season best time of 3:27.39 in the qualifiers will now be the target.
Joining Nigeria in Saturday’s final of the 4x400m women’s event are Russia, United States, Britain, France Italy, Romania and Ukraine.
Meanwhile Nigeria’s track sensation, Blessing Okagbare, will compete in the 200m women’s final this evening.
