The match is being planned for September.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is about to seal a deal that will see the Super Eagles engage the Stallions of Burkina Faso in a friendly match on September 15 in Kaduna, PREMIUM TIMES has reliably gathered.
The proposed friendly, if finally agreed, will be a repeat of the Africa Cup of Nations final in South Africa where Sunday’s Mba solitary goal saw the Eagles pip their West African counterparts by a lone goal to emerge champions of Africa after 19 years of waiting.
While the NFF has not confirmed the Burkina Faso friendly, the President, Aminu Maigari, has confirmed that the Eagles will play against an African side in the September free window.
It is believed that the Kaduna State government will bankroll the friendly.
Earlier in July, the home based Eagles played the first leg of their Africa Nations Championships qualifying match against Ivory Coast at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna and ended 4-1 winners; a result which aided a great deal in qualifying for the tournament proper.
