The book tells the story of Odegbami and Nigeria football.
Former Super Eagles player and 1980 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, winner, Segun Odegbami, launched his book ‘Me, Football and more’ on Tuesday in Abuja.
The book, which consists of 48 out of over 200 articles written by Segun Odegbami in over 33 years, was greatly commended by the Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi.
“It’s a great book and ex-players should also follow his path,’ Abdullahi said.
Speaking at the event, Odegbami explored the advantage of having a book written by an experienced sports person such as himself.
He said, “Nigerians will get to see more of me in the book. I have continued to be relevant in the system; I have positioned myself well. I have the largest individual library of real film footage in Nigeria in sports and it even transcend sports. I have managed to establish a foundation, I have columns- I’m relevant.”
Publisher of the book, former Editor of Daily Times Newspaper, Remi Akano, also commended and recommended the book saying, “Segun Odegbami is a good writer. Whatever else Nigerians are doing, they must read this book. You will meet Segun Odegbami in the book. It also tells the story of Nigerian football.”
The book will be launched in London, New York and the rest of the world soon.
