Portugal took a 2-0 lead scoring twice in less than five minutes, before the Flying Eagles equalized courtesy of two goals by skipper Abduljaleel Ajagun.

The Portuguese youngsters were, however, back in front to seal an impressive 3-2 win on the night.

Flying Eagles captain, Abdul Ajagun, led by example as he netted a brace to bring Nigeria back on level terms; but while the celebration was still on, Bruma netted his second of the day to deny Nigeria a draw and give Portugal a 3-2 victory and all three points in an action-packed game.

The Portuguese lads had also defeated the Nigerians, 2-1, in a friendly competition held weeks before the ongoing tournament.

The Eagles next meet Cuba who lost 1-2 to Korea in the other Group B match.
