Confederations Cup: Italy defeat Mexico 2-1

Pirlo and Balotteli scored for Italy.

Andrea Pirlo played his 100th game for Italy in style as he scored a great freekick in the first half of their game against Mexico.

The match, the second in the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup, ended 2-1 after Javier Hernandez converted a penalty in the first half to equalise for Mexico.

A Mario Balotelli second half goal guaranteed victory for the Italians, who got the three points needed. Italy are now second behind Brazil on goals difference in Group A after the host defeated Japan in the first game of the competition.
