Nigeria League review: Kano Pillars emerge mid-season champs

The league will go on a 3-week recess to return in July to return for the concluding part of the season.

Reigning League champions Kano Pillars are on track to keep their title after staying top as the 2012/13 League season entered the half way mark on Sunday June 16 2013.

Pillars defeated El-kanemi 2-0 to end the first half of the League with 36points.

On their part Warri Wolves finished the first half of the Season in 2nd spot after securing a 2-0 win over Sunshine Stars in their Week 19 fixture at the Warri City Stadium.

A goal in the added time of the first half and another in the added time of the second half gave Wolves all the three points on the day as they end the first half of the League campaign with 33 points

Sunshine Stars have a chance for revenge as the second half of the League stars with a home game aginst Wolves.

In other centers, Kwara United defeated Shooting Stars 2-0 in Ilorin; while Nassarawa in Lafia edged Rangers 2-0 and Kaduna United were ruthless defeating ABS FC 3-0.
