FIFA releases team lists for Confederations Cup as Keshi picks 23 for Nigeria

The list of 23 players to don Nigeria’s colours at this month’s FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil has been released by Head Coach Stephen Keshi.

FIFA has also released the squad list for the 8 countries participating in the competition.

Leading the Nigerian squad will be Super Eagles stand-in captain, Vincent Enyeama, who leads the team as a result of Joseph Yobo’s absence.

The 23-man squad released by. Keshi has no major surprise with regular guns all getting a place in the final roster for the ‘Champions Tournament’.

Nigeria head to Brazil as Africa’s flag bearers after the heroics in South Africa where they won their third Africa Nations Cup.

For the group phase, Nigeria is pitched alongside world champions, Spain; South American kings, Uruguay; and Tahiti who will offer the Super Eagles their first test in Brazil.

After the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Windhoek on Wednesday, the Super Eagles will then fly into South Africa on June 13 and connect to Sao Paulo, Brazil for the Confederations Cup which will start on June 15.

They will on June 14 arrive in Belo Horizonte, venue of their opening match against Tahiti on June 17.
