Siasia also commended Stephen Keshi.
The absence of two key players of the Super Eagles will be felt in Wednesday’s match against Kenya, ex-coach Samson Siasia, has said.
Siasia said the duo of Emmanuel Emenike and Victor Moses will be missed for the World Cup Qualifier that will be played in Nairobi.
Emenike was the highest goal scorer at the last African Nations Cup won by Nigeria, while Moses was arguably Nigeria’s best player at the competition. Both players are injured and are out of the game.
Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES, Siasia said although the forwards will be missed, the Stephen Keshi led team should focus on the players available.
“We will miss Emenike and Victor Moses a lot.
“Of course they did well at the Cup of Nations but they’re not here now, so lets focus on the ones that are there right now,” the former Eagles coach said.
Siasia also commended the Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, but said he is worried about the teams defence.
“Keshi has done a very good job, I believe he knows what he is doing, What I’m really worried about is the back, the defence. We have to create chances,” he said.
Speaking about the new faces that were introduced to the squad recently, Siasia said, “It’s kind of difficult. It takes a while to build a good team and if you keep changing, it’s going to be difficult to have a permanently good team; all the same Keshi knows that.”
“Hopefully some of these guys have played their last game for the Super Eagles , if he decides to bring in new players again it’s going to be a lot of confusion , he knows the players that he has and he knows what he’s doing and the game ahead of him,” he added.
Samson Siasia was sacked as Super Eagles Coach before Keshi was appointed. He has been linked with a return as coach of the U23 side, the team he took to the final of Olympics.
