Nigerian League review: Kwara Utd, Warri Wolves win big

Week 15 of the local league remained competitive.

The duo of Warri Wolves and Kwara United enjoyed the biggest victories in the Week 15 matches of the Nigeria Professional Football League games played across the country on Sunday May 26 2013.

Wolves at the Warri City Stadium pummeled visiting Bayelsa United 4-0, while Kwara United at the Ilorin Township stadium cruised to a 3-0 victory over current League leaders Kano Pillars.

The victory recorded by the Afonja Warriors has seen them close-in on top spot as they are now level on points with Pillars albeit with an inferior goals difference.

In other centers, Enyimba FC International smiled away with all three points on offer in their fixture against Shooting Stars courtesy of a lone goal victory at the Aba International stadium.

The Aba landlords scored their only goal from the penalty spot.

In Enugu, it was the host, Rangers, that finished tops defeating Sunshine Stars 2- 0.

The fixtures involving Dolphins against El-kanemi, Kaduna United hosting Wikki Tourist and Heartland also play host to Sharks FC in Owerri all ended in 1-0 wins for the home teams.

Nassarawa United defeated Akwa United 2-1 while Nembe City handed a 2-0 defeat to ABS FC in the day’s last set of fixtures.
