Mourinho spent three seasons at Madrid.
Despite the absence of key players, Real Madrid ended the 2012/2013 season with a victory over Osasuna in a game that is definitely the last for Coach Jose Mourinho as the club’s coach.
Higuain and Essien scored for Madrid in the first half before Osasuna equalized in the second half through Roberto Torres and Alvaro Cejudo.
Benzema and Callejon then scored to give Madrid the deserved victory.
Real Madrid had already announced that Mourinho would leave the club at the end of the season and is available to be signed by other clubs from June.
Chelsea of England are expected to announce Mourinho as coach in the next few days.
Mourinho’s three seasons at Madrid are highly criticised for not lifting the Le Decima, a tenth Champions League trophy for Madrid; and also his frequent fights with the media, opposition, club management and even his players.
In his three years at Madrid, however, the Portuguese won the Spanish Cup (fist in 19 years) in his first season at the club, a League title, a super cup, and set records including 100 points record set by Madrid last season as well as highest number of goals in a season by any Spanish club. He also guided Madrid to three successive semi-final berths in the Champions League, a spot the club had not reached since 2003.
Madrid are also the only top team in major European Leagues to remain unbeaten at home in all competitions this season.
Madrid finished second in La Liga this season with 85 points; behind arch-rivals, Barcelona.
