Only five home based players will be joining the national team.
The Coach of the D’Tigers, Ayo Bakare, on Thursday exclusively revealed to PREMIUM TIMES, the names of the players that made it to the national team.
The coach and his crew had initially decided that six home based players, who had been in the national camp, will join the National team.
But after a rigorous selection process, they coach explained that he and his crew could only pick five of the players. He said the five were unanimously selected.
“I have taken into careful consideration all the inputs of the coaches at our various meetings regarding the selection of the players
“It seems clear that only the five on the list can truly compete at the next phase of preparation, after due consideration of their skills and attitude.
“The names are listed in order of priority with the first name being the highest and the last name being the lowest priority,” he said.
The selected players are:
Abdulwahab Yahaya (forward) – Mark Mentors Abuja
Abubakar Usman (guard) _ Kano Pillars
Stanley Gumut (guard) – Mark Mentors Abuja
Michael Ohiero (guard) – Mark Mentors Abuja
Nkem Ojougboh (forward) – Comets
