Shooting Stars of Ibadan lost at home 0-2 to Heartland of Owerri.
The board of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Monday said that it had placed the technical crew of the team under close watch.
Toyin Akintunde, the Chairman of 3SC Board, said this in Ibadan while addressing newsmen.
The members of the technical team are Coaches Babatunde Odubola and Akeem Busari.
Mr. Akintunde said the board’s move was sequel to the 2-0 home defeat suffered by the team to Heartland of Owerri in a Week 12 match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
He added that the move was also to ascertain whether the technical crew would comply with the decisions of the team’s management, having met all the players’ requirements.
“We all sat down to x-ray the match after the loss and the players apologised for the error, promising that they will do well in subsequent matches.
“We have taken a few decisions which are not for public consumption yet, and for now we shall be watching to see if things are the way we want it to be,’’ he said.
On the call by fans that members of the technical crew be changed, Mr. Akintunde said: “It is normal for fans to make their own request but is the duty of the management to know what to do in situations like these when results do not favour the team.’’
