The Flying Eagles coach, John Obuh, has named a 30-man squad ahead of next month’s FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.
The squad includes 18 players from the recent African Youth Championship, AYC, in Algeria, where Nigeria placed third. These players include captain, Abduljaleel Ajagun; Enugu Rangers striker, Alhaji Gero; as well as Olanrewaju Kayode and Umar Aminu, who was goal king at the 2013 AYC.
Twelve new players have been picked preparatory to the U20 World Cup. They include Switzerland-based goalkeeper, Sebastian Osigwe; Moses Simon, who recently signed for Ajax; as well as Nigeria U17 defender Wilfred Ndidi, who features for Nath Boys in the Lagos Junior League.
There are six players from overseas clubs with the rest coming from the Nigeria League.
The FIFA U20 World Cup kicks off on June 21 and ends July 13
