Everton are looking for a possible replacement for David Moyes.
A Super Eagles player may lose his club coach to another national teammate if reports from Scotland are anything to go by.
According to the Scottish Express, Victor Anichebe’s Everton are planning to swoop on Efe Ambrose’s Manager at Celtic, Neil Lennon, if and when their substantive coach, David Moyes, completes his highly rumoured big switch to handle Manchester United.
The Scottish tabloid understands that Lennon has a handful of admirers on the Everton board and they will welcome him as an apt replacement for his compatriot who looks destined to succeed the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson.
Having worked wonders in Scotland and in the Champions League on a limited budget, Lennon has shot to the top of the wish list for the Toffees.
It would take a big job to convince him to leave Parkhead but Everton is likely to attempt – especially as they have the ability to break into the English Premier League’s top four.
Lennon has won back-to-back Scottish league titles and got his side to the Scottish Cup Final; but his biggest achievement was getting the Hoops to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Swansea City boss, Michael Laudrup, and Wigan manager, Roberto Martinez, are also among the frontrunners to replace David Moyes should the Everton boss succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
