The match was abandoned in the 28th minute.
The week eight Nigerian Premiere League match between Kano Pillars and Heartland FC of Owerri was abandoned following the unruly behaviour of fans at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The match was called off in the 28th minute following a scuffle between Mobile Policemen and the fans.
The angry fans pelted the police with sachet water and stones.
The crisis started when some of the fans had misunderstanding with the police at the entrance ;and this later spread to the stadium.
Following the development, the match commissioner, U.M. Zumani, after consulting with other officials, decided to stop the match to prevent the crisis from escalating.
Efforts to speak with match officials and security operatives on the issue proved abortive.
