Sidney Sam has played for Germany’s youth teams.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ademola Olajire, has hinted that top officials of the Glass House will be meeting with Nigeria-born German midfielder, Sidney Sam, in Germany next month to fast track his playing for the Super Eagles.
Olajire while speaking with Sports Radio, Brila FM, said the necessary documents to complete Sidney Sam’s switch has been prepared and would soon be forwarded to the world soccer governing body, FIFA, for ratification.
“For Sidney Sam we have supplied all the information that is required, we are waiting for the player to supply us his own side.
“We believe that in a couple of weeks we are going to be getting response from him,” Olajire told Brila FM.
He added “I want to also let you know that a crop of top NFF officials will be in Germany early May and they plan to see the young man.
Sam who currently stars for Bundesliga outfit, Bayern Leverkusen, has a Nigerian father but has represented Germany in the youth cadres, and has now been convinced to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
