The new appointees will serve in an interim capacity.
The Kogi State Government has approved the appointment of Paul Aiyenugba as the administrator of the state-owned clubs.
Mr. Aiyenugba’s appointment, which is on temporary basis, takes effect immediately.
The Kogi State-owned clubs are the Nigeria National League’s Kogi United, and Nigeria Professional Women League’s Confluence Queens of Lokoja.
While appreciating the governor of the state, Idris Wada, on the appointment in a chat with newsmen, Mr. Aiyenugba described the opportunity as wonderful and stressed that his wealth of experience as a special adviser will be well-utilized to the advancement of the clubs in terms of performance and welfare.
“I’m delighted with the appointment and my experience as the special adviser will go a long way to improving the managements and welfare of the clubs.
“A paradigm shift for positive in the management and performance of the clubs – tasked by the state government on the ensuring the clubs will not collapse but get to the next level,” Mr. Aiyenugba said.
The appointment which was confirmed on April 3 will see Mr. Aiyenugba serve in an interim capacity pending the installation of a substantive management committee for the clubs.
