Nasri was a banned from driving for six months.
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri, 25, has been banned from driving for six months by a British court This is coming shortly after Carlos Tevez, Nasri’s teammate at City, got a 250-hour community service order and was also banned for six months because of motoring offences.
The traffic police got £1,900 from Nasri as fine. He, however, won it back after signing a declaration saying he did not know his Mercedes had been caught on camera speeding on three occasions over four months September 2011.
This caused the police to launch their own investigation bringing Nasri’s case back to court where he admitted to a three count charge of failing to tell the police who was driving the car.
He was again fined and slammed with a six-month ban from driving. “He was fined £667 for each offence, and ordered to pay £105 costs. His licence was endorsed with 18 penalty points, and he was banned from driving for six months,” the U.K. Guardian said.
Nasri did not attend court proceedings, but had his solicitor, Nick Terry, represent him. Mr. Terry told the court, “Simply, he had a poor system of administration. “In this case, the defendant received the notices some months after the driving. It took some time for the notices to be sent out.”
“There will be a disqualification today, and he’s aware of that. He’s not driving at present and I will inform him immediately after the hearing of that disqualification.
“I don’t have details of his income, but suffice to say he can pay whatever fine is deemed suitable by the courts,” Nasri’s lawyer added.
