The Nigerian forward scored the second goal for Chelsea.
Nigerian winger, Victor Moses, was on target in the 73rd minute, as Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Championship side, Middlesbrough, in a Fifth Round FA Cup game played at the Riverside stadium on Wednesday night.
After enduring a goalless first half against the home side, Brazilian midfielder, Ramires, put the Premier League side ahead after just six minutes of the second half.
Much later, Moses became the second goal scorer to ensure the cup holders remain in contention to defend the trophy won last term under Coach Roberto Di Matteo.
Boro, who only recently acquired the services of Sammy Ameobi, who was cup tied and ineligible for Wednesday’s clash, had hoped they could push the stuttering London club to the wall and possibly cause an upset or at least force a replay.
After the initial success in the first half, Boro could not withstand the second 45 minutes as the resurgent Chelsea side, came out attacking.
With the victory, Chelsea will now face another stern test in the quarter finals where they will be up against league leaders, Manchester United.
