The match will be played on January 25.
The Group C match between Nigeria and Zambia has recorded one of the highest ticket sales of the 2013 African Cup of Nations, a Confederation of African Football, CAF, official has said.
Speaking exclusively to PREMIUM TIMES, the official, a member of the local organising committee of CAF said “Nigeria vs Zambia Match ticket is almost 100% sold out, the highest ticket sale since the beginning of the tournament.”
The official explained that one of the reasons for a high ticket sale for the match is the proximity between host South Africa and Zambia.
“The Zambians do not need a visa to access South Africa and I can assure you that a lot of them are trooping into the country and more will still come,” the official, who did not want to be disclosed for being unauthorised to speak, said.
Zambia is the defending champion of the African Cup of Nations and will play against two time winners, Nigeria, in the third match of Group C on Friday, January 25.
