Keshi keeps faith in home based players for Catalonia friendly


Seven home based players will start the game against the Catalonia side

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen keshi, has kept faith with the home- lads for Wednesday evening’s friendly against the Catalonia selected side as he has picked seven players from the home front to start against the star studded Spanish regional side.

Goal keeper Chigozie Agbim leads the list of home based stars chosen for the tune up game.

The six other players chosen from the Nigeria Premier League are Sunshine Stars duo, Godffery Oboabona and Solomon Kwambe

Other home lads handed a starter’s shirt are Warri Wolves towering defender Azubieke Egwueke, Heartland’s Benjamin Francis, Ejike Uzoenyi and Sunday Mba from Enugu Rangers.

Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine forward Brown Ideye is to lead the Super Eagles attack in Wednesday night’s friendly with Catalonia selected side.

Ideye who is Nigeria’s top scorer in Europe with 14 goals will be paired with Eagles new sensation Bright Dike who plies his trade with Portland Timberwolves in the Major League Soccer (MLS in the United States).

Lazio of Italy’s Ogenyi Onazi and Fegor Ogude of Valenrega of Norway complete the roster of 11 players for Nigeria.

The last time Nigeria faced a Catalonia selected side in a tune game they went down 5-0 and with 10 Barcelona players up for selection tonight amongst whom is Xavi, Puyol and Pique; the Eagles are expected to have their hands full in the test match scheduled for 7 p.m.
