English Premier League: Tottenham compound Villa’s woes as Liverpool lose

Aston Villa have now conceded 12 goals in two consecutive matches.

Aston Villa now have for themselves an infamous record of conceding 12 goals in two successive Premier League games after going down 4-0 at home at the Villa Park against Tottenham Hotspurs Wednesday evening.

A hat trick from Gareth Bale and another goal from Jermaine Defoe gave Spurs all three points as they take a leap up to fourth place on the English Premier League, EPL, table.

Bale has featured eight times against Villa without getting any goal but he was simply splendid on Wednesday netting three goals in the second half.

Villa only over the weekend were humiliated 8-0 by Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge and while many were expecting them to bounce back with the home fixture against Spurs it was not to be as they were again caught napping by the Andres Villaz Boaz tutored side.

The defeat sees Villa gradually slipping back into the relegation zone where they had been at the beginning of the season before recording a few wins to garner some points.

Villa fans will now hope for the quick return of their injured experienced legs, amongst who is Nigerian born Gabriel Agbolanhor, to salvage what is looking like a doomed season.

Also, Liverpool’s inconsistency was brought to the fore as they lost away at Stoke, 1-3.
