Manchester United and Swansea scored in the first half.
Manchester United‘s lead on the English Premier League table has been reduced to four points following a 1-1 draw with giant killers, Swansea, Sunday, at the Liberty Stadium in Cardiff.
The Red Devils had stormed to an early lead courtesy of a good partnership between Robin Van Persie and Patrice Evra as the French defender scored United’s only goal after just 16 minutes on the clock.
Swansea however bounced back and got a deserved equaliser through Spaniard Michu who has turned out to be one of the revelations of this season in the EPL.
Michu in the 29th minute tucked home the rebound after De Guzman’s saved effort.
Attempts by both teams to steal all points on offer proved futile as the several chances created could not be converted.
Swansea will be the happier side having survived the onslaught from Manchester attack thanks to some brave defending.
Sunday’s result is United’s first draw in 21 matches, and the first this season.
Nonetheless, United’s fans will be pleased that Vidic is back, as he marshalled the defence well despite his obvious loss of a yard of pace.
.The draw meant that United’s lead at the top of the table has now been cut to four points, while Swansea remains in 11th place going into busy festive period.
