Chelsea scored eight goals against their hapless opponents.

Chelsea FC on Sunday bounced back from their World Club Cup disappointment in spectacular fashion as they romped to an 8-0 victory over hapless Aston Villa in an English Premier League clash.

The fixture played at the Stamford Bridge saw Chelsea fans reeling with excitement as the highly vilified Coach, Rafael Benitez, seems to be gradually working his magic on the Blues.

In-form Fernando Torres opened the flood gate of goals as early as the third minute when he thumped a magnificent header into the top corner from 15 yards.

That was Torres’ 14th goal of the season in all competitions.

David Luiz doubled the lead just before the half hour mark courtesy of a fabulous free kick.

Branislav Ivanovic made it three goals five minutes later after nodding in a rebound to keep scores at 3-0 at the first half.

The London Boys were not done with goals as they came in the second half scoring 5 more goals.

Frank Lampard, Ramires (two goals), Oscar, and Eden Hazard all had their names on the scorers’ sheet in the biggest win for Chelsea this season and the biggest in the EPL in recent times.

With the victory, Chelsea are back on third spot with an outstanding game yet to be played against Sunderland.

Nigeria’s Victor Moses was on for the whole 90 minutes while his compatriot, Mikel Obi, is still out serving his three match ban.
