The board will also meet with that of the Premier League.
The Nigeria Football Federation announced Wednesday evening, that the 1st vice-president of its board, Mike Umeh, will head a committee to raise extra funds for the Super Eagles. The funds will be used alongside the money that will be released by the Federal Government for next year’s African Cup of Nations that will hold in South Africa.
In a communiqué released by the board after its meeting in Abuja, the Federation also announced that its Annual General Assembly (AGA) will take place on December 13 in Port Harcourt after it was earlier cancelled allegedly due to the corruption allegations made by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
The NFF executive committee also said that a meeting with the board of the Nigeria Premier League, NPL, will take place on Thursday to deliberate on “all outstanding issues concerning the league” with a view to starting the league within the shortest possible time.
The board also approved the dissolution of all the NFF standing committees including its powerful Technical Committee headed by Chris Green after two years of work, in accordance to the statutes which states that committees should be reviewed every 2years. The board will meet soon to decide the new members of the committees.
