The Falcons will now get $3, 000 per win.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has made good its promise to reward and motivate the Super Falcons with improved match bonuses as they head out to Equatorial Guinea for the African Women’s Championship, AWC.
The Director of Competition of the Federation, Mohammed Sanusi, who arrived in Accra on Tuesday night to join the team in camp, announced to the players that they will receive $3, 000 as win-bonuses at the AWC.
“Like I always say, to whom much is given, much is expected. Women’s football has given Nigeria a lot of pride and good name and it is just fair that the NFF reciprocate the gesture,” he said. “There is a need to encourage the women to do well as they go for the AWC”.
Speaking after the announcement, Super Falcons captain and goalkeeper, Precious Dede, expressed her delight and gratitude to the NFF saying:
“I would like to thank the President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, for keeping his promise to the team by increasing our bonus.
“I know I speak for everyone in the team when I say that we will do our best to ensure that we return to Nigeria with the trophy,” she said.
