Eaglets to face Benin in warm-up match

The Eaglets won the first leg of their qualifying match 3-0.

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has scheduled a friendly match between the Nigeria U-17 male team, the Golden Eaglets, and the Benin U-17 Team.

The match is a friendly to get the Eaglets ready for the second leg of their African Youth Championship qualifier against the Guinea U-17 team.

A top official of the NFF confirmed this to PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday evening.

“We will play a friendly match with Benin Republic. They are a good side to prepare us towards the second leg (of the Guinea match),” he said.

Speaking about the confidence the football federation has in the Golden Eaglets, the official said: “We believe in the boys’ victory in Cotonou next week Wednesday and also we believe they will come out successful in Guinea.”

The Golden Eaglets defeated their Guinean counterpart, 3-0, at the U. J. Esiene Stadium in Calabar in the first leg of the qualifier.
