Eagles to honour Aluu, Mubi victims, to wear black armbands

Over 40 students were killed in two different States.


The Super Eagles players will wear black arm bands when they play against the Lone Stars of Liberia by 4.00p.m., Saturday.

Spokesperson for the Nigeria Football Federation, Demola Olajire, who confirmed this to PREMIUM TIMES, said the armbands are in honour of the students killed in Aluu and Mubi.

Four students were brutalised and burnt to death by residents of Aluu community, Port Harcourt, Rivers State; while armed men slaughtered about 40 students of different higher institutions in Mubi, Adamawa State.

The Super Eagles game against Liberia will determine which of the two teams will qualify for the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
