Nigeria Under 17 female soccer team, the Flamingoes, pummelled their Group A opponents, Azerbaijan 11-0, in their second group match in the ongoing FIFA U-17 female world cup, in a match that saw the Nigerian side equal the world record number of goals ever scored in a FIFA female competition.
The Nigerian side opened scoring in the 5th minute with a goal from Ihezuo. Subsequently the team scored seven goals in the first half.
At the end of the match, Ihezuo emerged highest goal score, scoring five gaols in the match.
The team equalled the record set by South Korea against Gambia in the same competition.
