Sources in the Nigeria Football Federation have told PREMIUM TIMES that the eagerly awaited list of players to be invited for the October 13 duel between the Super Eagles and the Lone Stars of Liberia will be out early next week.

The planned ‘early’ release, according to officials of the NFF,  is to allow officials call up replacements in case any of the invited players fail to turn up.

It will be recalled that the Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, after the first leg match against the Liberians, frowned at the attitude of his players as he accused them of not demonstrating enough professionalism and commitment while in the national colours.

Keshi warned that anyone invited but unwilling to show maturity and patriotism should henceforth stay away from the national team.

“I will appreciate players staying away and saying they cannot make it than for them to come and show Nigerians that we are not serious here. I recall that when we thought we were going to play on a synthetic pitch, I called Mikel Obi and he said its not healthy for him to play on such a pitch that is the type of maturity and honesty I want from all national team players”, he said.

However speculations are rife that Chelsea man, Mikel Obi, will make the new list of players to be invited for this second leg clash.

The Eagles were forced to 2-2 draw in the first leg played in Monrovia and would have to watch it so they do not miss out of the Africa Nations cup yet again after missing the last edition.
