The Oyo State Government has declared Friday a work-free day to allow public officials get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The government made the declaration in a statement signed the Secretary to the State Government, Olalekan Alli, on Thursday.
According to the statement, the governor, Abiola Ajimobi urged the electorates in the state to take advantage of the holiday for their civic responsibility.
“The governor has directed that it is mandatory for all public and civil servants in the state to ensure that they duly register for their PVC in the ongoing exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission, which ends on Friday (tomorrow).
“Consequently, His Excellency has directed that Friday, August 31, 2018 be observed as work-free day in all government offices across the state,” the statement read.
