The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Olu Agunloye, on Tuesday launched his campaign to become the next governor of Ondo State, promising to restore integrity to governance in the state.
Speaking to a crowd of supporters at the Democracy Park, Akure, the former federal minister said he would ensure the prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions if elected governor.
He said during his tenure as governor, youth would not only get jobs, but they would be employers of labour.
“Wages will be paid, pensions will paid, gratitude will be paid, but until we turn this state to an industrial state, it will still be called a civil service state,” he said.
He lamented the poor state infrastructure of the state, noting that there is the need to provide the infrastructure that would support economic development.
“Our mission is very simple, to rescue Ondo State, and to rebuild Ondo State,” he declared.
He urged the people of the state to vote massively for him, so he could bring the needed prosperity to the people.
He also promised to cater for the welfare of women and support their economic development so they could be taken out of poverty.
