A cemetery attendant, Oluwatosin Akorede, has been arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly trading in human parts.
The Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who made this known to PREMIUM TIMES on Monday, said the suspect was caught with two human skulls.
He said Mr. Akorede was arrested at about 7 p.m. on Sunday at Isale-Oko area of Sagamu in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state following a tip off.
The spokesperson added that police officers led by the Divisional Police Officer, Moses Aduroja, were on routine patrol of the area when the suspect was arrested.
“The suspect, who is said to be working in a cemetery situated along Ayepe road Shagamu is currently undergoing interrogation with the view of unravelling the motive behind his action,” Mr. Oyeyemi said.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
