The Labour Party in Ondo State has elected Adeuti Stephen Taiye as its flag-bearer for the November 26 governorship election.
Mr. Adeuti, an economist, emerged at a primary held in Akure on Saturday as unopposed candidate.
The event, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saw his only rival, Olugbenga Julius Ojos, stepping down.
The Returning Officer for the election and Deputy National Chairman of the party, Ladi Ilya, commended the aspirants for displaying the spirit of sportsmanship.
She charged party members to continue in that direction for the party’s success in the forthcoming election.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Adeuti thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and vowed to lead the party to success in November.
The State Chairman of the party, Wale Gbakinro, appealed to members to start aggressive campaign for successful outing in November.
