The Awujale of Ijebu, Sikiru Adetona, has been appointed Chancellor of privately owned Hallmark University, situated in Ijebu Itele, Ogun State.
The traditional ruler’s letter of appointment was signed by the university’s founder, Leila Fowler, and made available to journalists on Sunday. It said the monarch was considered for the appointment because of his contribution to the society.
“The Founder, Board of Trustees and the Governing Council of the Hallmark University, Ijebu Itele would be most honoured if Your Royal Majesty, the highly distinguished Royal Father, the developer, the leader of leaders, and the liver of the people in the service of mankind, would very kindly accept to dignify the University as her Chancellor,” the letter reads.
The monarch, while accepting the offer in a letter dated February 17, assured the university of “support and best wishes”.
“Looking through the profile of your University, one cannot but be optimistic about the future of this young citadel of learning. I pray therefore, that The Most High and history would appreciate your contribution to human capacity development through education,” he said.
