The Police in Ondo State are on a trail of one Friday Eniba, who allegedly killed his friend, Seun Salami, during a heated argument.
The incident took pace at Iwaro-Oka, in Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of the state about a week ago.
The spokesman for the police, Wole Ogodo, said Mr. Eniba is on the command’s list of wanted criminals.
Mr. Ogodo said Mr. Eniba killed Mr. Ajalami over an unresolved dispute, using a knife.
He also said the suspect fled the scene after inflicting several cuts on his victim’s back and throat.
Mr. Ogodo however indicated that the deceased and the suspect had lingering issues which were unresolved, but did not mention what the matter was between them.
He said Mr. Eniba lured the deceased to a lonely place where he carried out the act.
According to him, sympathisers made efforts to save his life by rushing him to hospital, but he died before he could be treated.
Although it is about a week since the incident happened, no arrest has been made.
But Mr. Ogodo said efforts were afoot to arrest the fleeing suspect.
“I am very sure that the suspect would not escape because our men are all out to arrest him,” Mr. Ogodo said. “There is no way he can escape without facing the wrath of the law.”
