The victorious governor-elect of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday stormed the major streets of Abeokuta,the state capital to celebrate his re-election for another term of four years.
Mr. Amosun on hearing the final results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, did not waste time in hitting the streets with thousands of his supporters to jubilate across the town.
The Governor left the government house at Oke-Igbein,trekking round the state capital,to express his joy and appreciation to electorates and residents. He moved to areas such at,Ibara,Omida,Totoro Sapon,Itoku,Ago-Oko,Ijemo,Kuto and Ake among others,causing traffic jam, as residents celebrated with him.
Also, the Alake of Egbaland, Adedotun Gbadebo, has sent a congratulatory to Mr. Amosun. The monarch said the governor deserved his victory and should do more in his second term in office.
“Congratulations Your Excellency for a well deserved victory. The best is yet to come to every citizen of Ogun State as you continue to implement your avowed programmes for better living standards,” the monarch said in a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES.
“I also give kudos to the First Lady for her tireless effort to rebuild Ogun State. I pray that the Almighty will overwhelm you with Solomonic wisdom as you commence your second term and thus have your name written in gold in the annals of Ogun State.”
