‎Aregbesola chides Jonathan, PDP as thousands march for APC in Lagos

Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola

The Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has compared President Goodluck Jonathan to the biblical Jonah who failed to deliver God’s message.

Mr. Aregbesola stated this at the Teslim Balogun Stadium during the one-million-man march‎ for change organised by the APC.

The march, which kicked off from Maryland to the stadium in Surulere, saw thousands of Lagosians including the party’s national leader, Bola Tinubu, walk under the hot sun.

“I know the Christians, Muslims, and traditional worshippers all know the story of Jonah in the bible that failed to carry out God’s assignment and was thrown into the sea,” Mr. Aregbesola said. “Our own Jonathan, when he was born, God sent him to rescue Nigeria but he refused and that’s why his name changed to “badluck.””

He urged Nigerians to vote out the president like the crew members in the boat threw Jonah into the water.

“We won’t throw him into the water, we will send him to his home with our votes,” ‎he said.

Commending the youth, the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos, Akinwumi Ambode, said the APC has proven a point again with the march.

“We will commit this election to 21 days fasting and prayer, we will commit everything,” Mr. Ambode said. “This nation is destined for greatness. If we don’t take time, with the way the naira is sliding, Nigeria will go bankrupt. We don’t rent crowd, we don’t share dollars, you all came here willingly.”

Mr. Tinubu, who was in a happy mood as he danced with singer, Kenny Saint Best, told the supporters to vote for all APC candidates in the coming election.

“Are you ready?” Mr. Tinubu asked. “The day has come. March is here. March for your freedom. This march won’t be a bad one.”

Nigerians will go to the polls to elect new leaders on March 28 and April 11.

These APC ugly creatures give Yoruba a bad image. Looking in from outside,
the impression we get is that Yorubaland is now a society of complete illiterates.
Nobody in Nigeria now looks forward to Yorubaland for sensible policy articulation.
That is how Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Mujahedeens have destroyed Yorubaland.

Hehehehehe!!! There’s no difference anymore between Gombe and Lagos.

Aborigine legend has it that on the day Jona Dumbo was born, his father claimed he had a feeling his son would bring him good luck. According to Ijaw tradition, the canoe builder then tossed a young JoDumbo into the river and dived-in to retrieve his boy. Then, looking up to the heavens the drunken fisherman cried out with a loud voice and named his son, ‘Goodluck Azikiwe”… apparently hoping his son would become another Zik of Africa. Back to Gov. Aregbesola’s Biblical Jona. Obviously, Aregbe is no Christian and does not know the full gist. When Jona in the Bible refused to carry out God’s assignment, a Shark swallowed him and delivered to the point of duty. So, let us pray…
Biko, God of Ndigbo, Yoruba and Hausa… Send Down Your Shark to Swallow Dr. Dumbo and bring him back to Otuoke!
This and nothing more we ask this month of March, thru the same Christ your Son… Who lives and reigns with You as One God, now and forever. Amen! (copyright protected: Höly Wähala)

PDP will not win one single S/Western State in the coming elections and Dumbo would be lucky if he wins in 8-States nationwide. Biko, wake up and smell the akara, mugu!

        • Godfrey Etokebe

How come a 1000000 man APC march turned into a 250 APC man march if APC has a chance in Lagos? By the way, go to VANGUARD and you will find OBA of Lagos giving GEJ the mantle to rule Nigeria til 2019.

Hmmm the black race. When would we start doing things right. When I hear people like Aregbesola speak and make us a laughing stock in the international circle. Tinubu is accused of corruption and he has the hut to organize a million march. If it were to be a sane country he would be stoned on the streets. But this is Nigeria anything can happen

  • ilesanmi

Mallam Aregbesola has just quoted a vital portion of the Holy book, the Bible although lacks the interpretation of.
Yes, God gave Jonah an assignment which he (Jonah) refused to carry out, Jonah was thrown into the river and got swallowed by a fish; the fish took Jonah and gushed him out at the point of the assignment
If God had sent Jonathan according to Mallam Aregbesola to deliver Nigeria, an assignment which he refused to carry out, now God has made him to be swallowed up by the fish (PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION) and by the 28th March 2015 the fish will gush him out (ELECTORAL VICTORY) at the point of his assignment (ASO ROCK)
    This is the correct interpretation.

    • New Nigerian

You did not follow the narrative. The equivalent of been thrown into the sea is we would vote him out en masse. Then he will go to Otuoke – where he may as well be swallowed by a whale. Then if he repents – as Jonah did – God will cause the whale to cast him out onto safety. The Belly of the whale here may be prison here in Nigeria or at ICC – then he will come clean before God and do right by the people, then he may get salvation.

      • Godfrey Etokebe

Who will vote out GEJ and PDP? Is it 250 Lagosians?

Thank you for letting us know how Jonathan have been misruling us and hope to continue. We say Never again!

      The oil theft contracts:
President Jonathan have personally supervised the grand theft, through two contracts financed with tax payers money, since January 2012 (possibly fall of 2011) of 400,000 barrels of oil per day by those he hand-picked to safeguard the supply lines against theft. According to Soludo: “First, you (Finance Minister, Okonjo-Iweala) admit that ‘oil theft’ has reduced oil output from the average 2.3 – 2.4 million barrels per day to 1.95 mpd (meaning that at least 350,000 to 450,000 barrels per day are being ‘stolen’). On the average of 400,000 per day and the oil prices over the past four years, it comes to about $60bn ‘stolen’ in just four years.

      – This is done through two 2 contracts that Jonathan signed to rebel leaders from his tribe.

These are the 2 contracts by the Jonathan administration that is a major feed to the monster bedevilling Nigeria and turning it into a failed state, and a personal estate of King Jonathan, it was fall 2011 & 2012 time frame – widely reported by Wall Street Journal and major newspapers in Nigeria – just google it – I like the composition in the piece titled, Help, This Nigerian State Is Failing By Ayobami Oyalowo:

”In August, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) broke some disturbing news about Nigeria. It was reported that some ex-militants in the Niger Delta had been paid about N6.32billion within the past one year by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Yes, for the ‘noble’ service of providing security against vandals for the Corporation’s oil pipeline network. Imagine! The breakdown, as outlined by WSJ, is this:

Chief Government Ekpumopolo (alias Tompolo), Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, ‘General’ Ebikabowei Victor Ben (Boyloaf) and ‘General’ Ateke Tom were respectively paid N5.1 billion, N1.44 billion, N608 million and N608 million yearly by the state-owned NNPC, as ‘protection money’ to guard the pipelines they once attacked.

As if that was not enough an insult on the collective intelligence of Nigerians, earlier in the year the Federal Government awarded a contract worth $103.4million (over N15billion) to the Global West Vessel Specialist Limited (GWVSL) – a firm widely believed to be owned by Tompolo to supply 20 vessels for the use of the nation’s military authorities to secure the waterways. Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Ziadeke Akpobolokemi, had last year sent a memo titled, “Award of Contract for the Strategic Concessioning Partnership with NIMASA to Provide Platforms for Tracking Ships and Cargoes, Enforce Regulatory Compliance and Surveillance Of The Entire Nigerian Maritime Domain,” to President Goodluck Jonathan.

In considering the memo, President Goodluck Jonathan and Akpobolokemi chose GWVSL as the preferred company for the 10-year concession agreement, renewable for two terms of five years each. Jonathan, in a memo dated 9th November, 2011, with reference number PRES/99/MT/61, approved Akpobolokemi’s memo, which the Federal Executive Council rubber-stamped on 5th January, 2012. According to Akpobolokemi, GWVSL “will provide platforms for effective policing of Nigeria’s maritime domain and ensure compliance with international maritime conventions on vessels and ships voyaging the country’s waters”. NIMASA maintains that the concessionaire would help the Federal Government to enforce the sabotage law and collect levies on its behalf. This, in a country that still maintains a statutory Naval force, and without a track record for GWVSL?

From the above, the current occupant of the presidential villa showed where his loyalty lies…rather than train the military, he equipped criminals and vandals who had taken up arms against the state. No wonder so much arms and ammunition have found their way into Nigeria and our country has now become one gigantic human abattoir where someone is killed on an average of an hour, daily. Between January to May 2014 it has been estimated that over 1,500 people have been mindlessly cut down by terrorists and blood thirsty killers.

“Lagos state government’s LAGBUS scheme is managed by a registered private company
known as LAGBUS Asset Management Ltd – whose Board of Directors are in the Lagos State
Government and connected to the government. For instance, Mr. Disun Holloway, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism is a board member of LAGBUS Asset Management Ltd.

Though the board members and other key beneficiaries are likely to be fleecing
the scheme through profit sharing and other means, the Lagbus scheme is no longer
profitable. The Managing Director of LAGBUS, Mr. Tunde Disu at a radio program
in 2012 claimed that the buses being managed by the company were 803.

Whereas, the total number of buses on the roads on a daily basis is about 190,
while buses operating 2 years ago were 300 – which means the buses operating
are reducing due to mis-management. This is because most of the buses have
broken down and are abandoned at depots due to expensive and unsustainable
contract maintenance policy, although most of the buses are less than 3-years-old,
they have been allowed to rot away. Hence, about 600 buses have deteriorated
        and are now wasting.”
