Octogenarian declared missing in Ogun

An 84-year-old man, James Fatade, mysteriously disappeared while on a search for his son in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.

The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, while confirming the incident to journalists on Wednesday in Abeokuta, said the octogenarian came from a town in Osun State to visit his son in Abeokuta.

He said Mr. Fatade left Osun State February 11, 2015 to visit his son in Abeokuta but could not locate his son’s house, so decided to go to his son’s shop instead.

The police said Mr. Fatade waited for some hours at the shop, before he told some people within the son’s shop at about 5.40 p.m. of the same day that he wanted to see somebody around the area.

Since then, the victim has not been seen, while all efforts made by the children to locate him proved abortive.

Mr. Fatade “is 84 years old, 5,1/2ft tall and dark in complexion. He speaks Yoruba and English languages. The Command appeals to the general public or anyone who has useful information about him to please contact the police or his son Mr. Isaac Fatade at No 2, Alafia Estate, Olosun, Ita-Oshin Abeokuta on telephone number 08022218233,” the Ogun State police said in a statement.
