Lagos APC accuses PDP of buying voters cards

byPress Release

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party of covering up the monumental fraud of buying voters cards with huge sums of money all over Lagos thinking it can use this to rig election in a state where it hardly exists.

The APC also described as idiotic, baseless and specious the allegation by one Felix Oboagwina, speaking for the governorship candidate of the PDP, Jimi Agbaje, that the APC wants to use teachers and civil servants to swing the forthcoming election.

The APC said the allegation was yet another of the baseless hoaxes and childish prattles that has characterized the campaign of a sinking party, PDP, that has nothing to show for its unfortunate sixteen years in power

In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Joe Igbokwe, the party said that PDP lived on a campaign of blackmail, forgeries, gossips and tittle-tattle, believing that Nigerians are so gullible to buy its numerous tales that belittle a worthy campaign for people’s votes.

“We find the allegation of PDP as laughable considering the fact that the PDP in Lagos has discovered that the false bubble on which it built its wild expectation of taking over Lagos is busting on its faces as the campaigns gather momentum. Whatever makes the PDP, a party notorious for wrecking Nigeria in sixteen years of regrettable waste laying to think it will be allowed by the good people of Lagos to replace the universally acclaimed performing government of Lagos, which has become the redeeming light in a Nigeria the PDP had totally crumbled, beats us.

“But we know that the hallucination of the PDP that it would be allowed to wreck Lagos the way it wrecked Nigeria despite trillions of oil wealth it stole and plundered, is premised on its legendary rigging prowess which is bound to fail them woefully as Nigerians yearn for a change in the stale polity the PDP has diligently erected since 1999. It was this belief that made the PDP indulge in large scale mopping up of voters cards using large amount of money for the purpose of rigging the forthcoming election. It is well known that today, the PDP is using amorphous groups and self-named NGOs to launder heavy cash as inducement for people to either surrender their PVCs or their PVC PIN numbers for ulterior motives during the forthcoming election.

“We know the groups, mainly Igbo groups and traders organizations the PDP is using to buy and con the cards of voters in Lagos and in due season we shall reveal the groups and individuals involved in this shady practice. But in the meantime, we urge Lagosians to disregard the diversionary allegations of the PDP and monitor closely some groups and individuals who are inducing innocent people all over Lagos with a huge chunk of the trillions of Naira the PDP has stolen from the country’s treasury for the purpose of buying their voters cards. We alert the good people of Lagos about this development and urge them to watch closely the activities of these PDP mercenaries in their respective neighbourhoods.

“Nigeria is on the verge of change and Lagos remains the hotbed of this progressive movement and cannot afford to go on a reverse gear by patronizing a party seen as a global brand for failure and corruption. We urge Lagosians to remain firm in resolute to resist PDP and the kind of notorious propaganda with which it hopes to con an extension of its woeful regime when it had become so obvious that Nigerians have totally rejected them. Even as PDP shifted the general election it was heading for a comprehensive defeat, we urge Lagosians to jealously guard their PVCs from the rampaging desperate PDP buyers for that remains the weapon of change we need to end the nightmarish experience of the past sixteen years. We urge Lagosians not to sell their cards- whatever the price PDP buyers offer them for we know they are capable of offering any price to stave off the impending change Nigerians have collectively agreed to.

“We urge eternal vigilance as the PDP tries every trick including such lies as the one we are refuting here for them to continue to stay in power and further their single agenda which is the total ruination of Nigeria for the selfish interest of its members.”
