The Lagos State Parks and Gardens, LASPARK, says it created over 60,000 jobs in the first six years of its inception.
Titilayo Anibaba, the Managing Director of the agency, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday.
“The agency has created about 60,000 jobs to job-seekers in six years.
“Most of the people that benefited are Lagosians and people that reside in Lagos.
“The idea is to engage people to do things, most especially, the apprenticeship,” Ms. Anibaba said.
The managing director said the beneficiaries were artisans, sculptors, horticulturists, carpenters, security guards, gardeners and artists.
She also said that the agency had created 297 gardens in the six years, adding that 30 more gardens would be created in the next few months.
“The initiative is part of Lagos State’s 10-point transformation agenda,” she said.
