The Lagos State Police Command on Monday said it had arrested 26 suspects in connection with the murder of a 25-year old man, Sikiru ‎Ogboye.

The commands’ Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, told journalists in Lagos that Mr. Ogboye was killed on November 9 while reportedly monitoring the collection of Permanent Voters Card in Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.

The deceased was said to be monitoring the process in the area on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“Ogboye was killed in a suspected clash between supporters of different political parties.

“One pump action gun and a live cartridge were recovered,” he said.

Mr. Nwosu also said investigation is ongoing, adding that the political parties involved in the clash would be known after the process was concluded.

The parties have already been mentioned. I hope this does not jeopardise investigations.

Either way, great response from the police.
