I hate to say this… Bankole is the most corrupt and fraudulent person to preside over the Nigeria lower house. While I am saddened by the loss of that innocent girl, Bankole shall not go unpunished for all his atrocities of looting he committed against many innocent Nigerians including millions of girls like his lost daughter.

    • Tunde

I think this is not the right time or place to spout this Maria. Irrespective of whatever you think he has done, this man just lost his daughter. It shows lack of humanity and compassion on your part to say this. It is wrong.
If you are genuinely saddened at the loss, then express that emotion and pray for the soul of the lost daughter and save your personal views on Dimeji Bankole for another time.

Well said Tunde. Maria, get some home training. The girl was 6. Express your condolences and save your anger for another (more relevant) article

Thank you, sir, for straightening Maria out, in particular because little girls and boys don’t get to choose who fathers or mothers them. May the little angel’s soul rest in perfect peace!

I pray that you are never in a situation where you lose a son or daughter. If you are, you will understand that your comments are inappropriate. A 6-year old is innocent and is completely blameless and mustnt be judged by the actions of a parent. A 6-year old that died from illness would have gone through suffering. the only thing a person – any civilised person – should be saying and wishing for is the peaceful repose of this child. We live in a world that has lost its sense of perspective, and if we didnt, we wouldnt have

May the soul of the young girl be granted peace in heaven amen. I laugh when i hear Bankole stole this and stole that. Most brains are locked and cant be allowed to reason normally. First you need to know what The speakers job description is before you appraise him. Secondly the press makes a big mockery of corruption and go after those the powers that be go after and demonize them. Three sins of corrupt bankole inlcude

1- The power to find a former presidents men guilty of the power investments and power probe. Reports were gotten and submitted to Mr president and the EFCC what happened …Nothing
2- Top Civil servants in Nigeria made sure budgets didnt work so they could share the balance budget as 13th month salary- that was the norm prior to Bankole intervention..thats why Prof Grange went down, that way Nigeria will never work. what did the house under Bankole do, he shifted budget end years to March 31st and ensured unsent funds were returned to Government coffers. Thereby stemming corruption and increasing budget efficiency whereby many more institutions will benefit from the budget like never before …Such Institutions include universities , hospitals , road projects etc. Because of this intervention the nation moved forward.

3- He was charged with inflation of contracts and also taking a loan. This same processes or offenses were carried out/committed by the senate as well. The National Assembly Commission and not the speaker or house of representatives was responsible for both transactions. Why was he singled out- i will tell you—the powers that be needed to punish him for fighting corruption.

He went to the two courts and demanded accelerated hearing,he went to trial in both cases with all witnesses called to testify- little into the case did the courts find out that efcc had no case and that due process was followed by the Assembly commission ……EFCC’s Festus Keyamo asked for adjournment countless times when they had nothing to say or case to prove – what did Bankole do- He proceeded to HArvard to complete his course on SPG…while there he was offered a teaching opportunity. He graduated again this year and is now a fellow of the institute…hardwork pays…We don’t and will never appreciate a prophet in his own home. For more information invest in research—–dont just follow the crowd investigate issues as well. I rest my case.
