Man, 25, arrested in Ogun for sexually assaulting toddler

A 25 year-old-man has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling a three-year-old infant at Pedepo Village via Ohunbe in Ipokia Local Government of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed this to PREMIUM TIMES in Abeokuta, said the suspect committed the crime on Monday, September 15.

He said the parents of the victim reported the case to the police when they noticed that there were injuries on the baby.

He said the police arrested the suspect eventually.

Mr. Adejobi said during police interrogation, it was discovered that the suspects lured the toddler into his room by asking her to bring him a bunch of keys.

Mr. Adejobi said the suspect confessed to the crime and the victim has been taken to hospital for treatment.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye has ordered the case be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation Eleweran, Abeokuta for thorough investigation,” Mr. Adejobi said.

He added that the command would always put in place measures that would reduce crimes and social vices to their barest minimum and urged parents to keep watch on their children and wards
